ディスカンソー・ガーデン(Descanso Gardens)で、11月8日、9日(土、日)に日本庭園フェスティバルが行われます。日本庭園内の建物「ミンカ」(民家)では草月グループ蓉幸(Sogetsu Group Yokou、北島蓉幸主宰)による生花展示がおこなわれます。
ディスカンソー・ガーデンは、グレンデール市(Glendale)に隣接するラキャダ・フリントリッジ市内(La Canada Frintridge)にあります。ディスカンソー・ガーデンへは入場料が必要です。

Japanese Garden Festival | Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 8 & 9
Descanso celebrates the art and culture of Japan with this annual family-friendly festival. Activities are free with admission.
Ikebana display, both days, 9am – 5pm: Ikebana, the art of flower arranging, is one of the most actively practiced of Japan’s traditional arts. The Sogetsu School of Ikebana promotes a contemporary and international understanding of this art form.
Japanese Garden tour, Saturday only, 10am: Dr. Kendall Brown, professor of Asian art history and author of “Quiet Beauty: The Japanese Gardens of North America,” leads an in-depth tour of the Japanese Garden.
Camellia Lounge, both days, 11am – 3pm: Patina will sell distinctive Japanese cuisine, sake and beverages in the Japanese Garden.
Kishin Daiko Taiko Drummers, both days, 11:30am & 1:30pm: Always a crowd pleaser, the taiko drummers from Kishin Daiko perform their feats of percussive magic in the Under the Oaks Theater.
