I thought one of my upcoming TV appearances might be of interest to you and to your newspaper.
I am playing a Japanese character in next Sunday’s episode of “Bob’s Burgers,” a hit animated television show that airs on FOX.
My character is named Shinji Kojima, and he is a retired Japanese film star who comes to America to reunite with his daughter after 30 years.
The animation studio, Bento Box Animation, has written a wonderful storyline that draws upon their clear love for Japanese manga (“Lone Wolf and Cub”), Japanese cinema (“Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman”), Japanese monster movies, and of course Japanese anime.
This is a major appearance for a Japanese character on network prime-time television!
This episode airs on Sunday, May 17 at 730 pm.
