P01-03: Phoenix-based artist Ken Koshio will present “Taiko Extravaganza 2021 – Flower of Life” show at Scotts dale Center for Performing Arts on Dec. 17, at 7:30pm. This show will feature diverse fusion of musicians and taiko drumming. The power of Koshio’s taiko is explained by Patsy Lowry, President of Ken Koshio International Fan Club in the interview by Shige Higashi
P04: Cultural News will present a free webinar about the modern history of Hiroshima on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7:00pm, Pacific Time.
This webinar will explain how 10,000 Hiroshima victims were transported to shelters in Ninoshima Island in the atomic bombing 1945.
AD: Every five years, Okinawa Prefecture hosts “Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival. The next festival will be held on Oct. 28-Nov. 5, 2022, and Uyehara Travel in Los Angeles is organizing the Okinawa Tour for this festival.
P05: Narimono or Percussion is a core part of Kabuki music. In this series, multi-talented artist Mariko Watabe is explaining how Narimono is used in the song “Spinning Top.” She is also explaining about the genre of Yamatogaku.
P06: Japan House Los Angeles always brings the latest exhibition from Japan. From Dec. 11, 2021 through March 6, 2022, the Japan House gallery on the second level of Hollywood and Highland Center will host “Kumihimo: The Art of Japanese Silk Braiding by DOMYO.”
P07: In Glendale, California, Japanese Teahouse “Shoeian” has been built by the sister city association. Currently the Friends of Shoseian is running program around a year. The next “Holiday Tea & Japanese Cultural Day” will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 10am to 3pm
P07: Non-profit organization Cultural News Association asks the public to raise $30,000 fund annually to continue to publishing Weekly Cultural News, providing webinars, and other public programs.
